Supernatural will go back the main Season 11 theme next Wednesday with Episode 20, titled “Don’t Call Me Shurley.” What’s most exciting is that fans are finally going to start getting that Season long closure with Amara and Castiel – oh and there’s also that whole Lucifer part as well.
If there is one thing that is always great about Supernatural, it’s that those Winchester boys never seem to give up, even when the odds are stacked against them. How else would they make it 11 seasons and still have their skin intact?
What fans have wanted from the beginning of Season 11 of Supernatural is to see just how deep the Darkness runs in this new lore of tales. There is also that whole part about finally getting to see God, but we will leave out any potential spoilers about that.
According to TV Guide, Amara is going back to one of her tricks from the early part of Supernatural’s Season 11. A simple dark fog is about to roll over a town and once again, the black vein virus is back. But this time is not going to be quite the cakewalk that Sam and Dean went through the first time they dealt with her and her little trick.
Before we get too heavy into what is going to happen on Episode 20 of Supernatural, let’s just take a quick look at the road so far. As it turns out, even those Supernatural cases of the week still have a little something to do with the Amara storyline.
Last week on Supernatural, when Dean was up all night stewing about losing Castiel to Amara, Sam found a way to distract him by hauling him up to Colorado to find another one of those 27-year demons, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Suffice it to say that every 27 years, a supernatural demon of some sort would come out of hiding and kidnap someone from the woods. But when you find out what kind it is and what it does with its victims, you might just cringe.
As it turns out, that Episode of Supernatural started out way back in 1987 when a boy (Jessy) and his older brother were in the woods. They were supposed to be leaving for California soon, but the older brother got snatched up before that could happen. Next thing you know, it’s the current day and Sam and Dean are on their way to Colorado for another go with the supernatural monster.
The Winchesters do their due diligence and get the interviews in to see what exactly the witnesses saw. Once they were able to narrow down their supernatural options, they have to mix it up with a green eye “junkless,” as Dean would call it. But Dean was losing the battle, that is until an older and wiser Jessy showed up and saved his life. As it turns out, Jessy has become a hunter and is a man on a mission to find the monster who took his older brother.

Just like with every episode of Supernatural, the story gets good when another hunter enters the mix. When the Winchesters find out that it is some sort of Cicada monster that rises every 27 years to lay eggs in a host then die, they go all out together and put an end to the cycle of terror.
The Winchester were going to have the new hunters come in and give them some fresh eyes on the Amara case, but they leave them alone and let them retire in peace. That’s because their Supernatural case was over for them and they got a decent ending to their story.
But in the next Episode of Supernatural, Dean and Sam must team up with a local Sheriff to stop a town from ripping itself apart. Everyone that gets hit with Amara’s fog cloud have gone homicidal and crazy and it is even more powerful than the spell she put out in the beginning.
Be sure to tune in to the CW next Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT to see what happens next on Supernatural.
