Noah Scalin, of the Skull-A-Day project, has created a site-specific installation that depicts and anamorphic skull that’s created completely from discarded newspapers he received from a plant that was shutting down. The piece is on display at Witchita State University in Kansas.
“The timing was appropriate as it was just announced that the local newspaper would no longer be printing in town, but moving production to another city before eventually transitioning to just a digital format. This temporary piece will stay up for just a few days before it is disassembled and recycled,” the artist said.
