Jamie Lynn Sigler just revealed she has been battling multiple sclerosis (MS) for over fifteen years.
“I wasn’t ready until now,” the 34-year-old Sopranos alum shared with People about telling the world of her diagnosis. “You’d think that after all these years, somebody would be settled with something like this, but it’s still hard to accept.”
Although she remained symptom free for “quite some time” after her initial diagnosis, she now feels the effects of the central nervous system disease.
“I can’t walk for a long period of time without resting. I cannot run. No superhero roles for me,” Jamie said jokingly. “Stairs? I can do them but they’re not the easiest. When I walk, I have to think about every single step, which is annoying and frustrating.”
“Things are manageable now,” Jamie added. “It takes a fighting attitude to deal with all this. This disease can absolutely take over your life if you let it.”
Jamie just married her fiance Cutter Dykstra, 26, and they have a 2-year-old son together named Beau.
