Appelsap

ANT had a ticket for the great hiphop festival in Amsterdam, named “Appelsap“. Every year Appelsap is being held in “het Oosterpark”, Amsterdam East. All the years before, the editions were free, but this time, people had to pay €15.- to get in. But, the line up for this event was incredible, because you had artist performing like: Full Crate & FS Green, Hef, Ben Westerbeech, SLB Money Gang, Juha, Lando Kal, Oneman, Lunice and many more.
Walking towards the gate I saw alot of people asking for a ticket to get in, because this edition of Appelsap was sold out. Luckely, I had my ticket in my pocket. Going through the security, they warned me about using my camera. The security man said:”Don’t let me catch you, using your camera”. I had to put my camera in a locker. This the reason that you won’t be able to see how it was, but I’ll give you a link to get an impression how the atmosphere was, CLICK HERE!
Appelsap had two stages. Stage one had a lot of dutch-hiphopmusic and stage two had more sounds of the UK, like house, funky and techno music. Stage one wasn’t that crowded at first, but after an hour, when more people were arriving at Appelsap, it was crazy crowded. On my left all of the people were bouncing along with the music and on my right side people were also bouncing with the music. So now and then, people were singing along with the artists, unfortunately I didn’t knew all the lyrics, so I just danced with the music.
When I arrived at stage two, there was a dj spinning some drum ‘nd bass music. Alot of people around me were jumping up and down. When I looked up to the sky I saw some grey clouds coming, but that didn’t stop anybody from enjoying the music.
At the event I saw a lot of hipsters, casual looking people and urban people. Most hipsters had there Vans, skinny jeans, loose t-shirt or denim shirt on with their bagpack on looking cool through their sunglasses. The “casual youngsters”, the name that I like to call them, had their Vans or Nikies on with a regular fit jeans, t-shirt or top with a jacket and some accesoires on. At last you had the “urban people” and they had their Vans or Nikies with skinny jeans or a baggy jeans on. They also had a t-shirt or top on with a jacket and a cap. The three groups had one fashion thing in comment and that was Vans. So if you don’t have any Vans, you should get them or otherwise you aren’t hip.
There was also a foodcourt at Appelsap. There offered different kind of dishes. You could choose from snacks to turkish dishes. Everybody enjoyed the food. The only thing that bothered me was that the food was so expensive, but hey.. they also needed to earn money. The drinks there was in the theme of Appelsap, for example you had appeljuice with wodka or just appeljuice. This was nicely done. Most people choose for beer, because it’s so cheap.
The sun is going under and people are leaving. So it was time for me to leave also, because I was tired. I had a really great time at the festival. I enjoyed the people, food & drinks and ofcourse the good music. I hope to see you there next year at the Appelsap Festival!
