Artist sues Big Gay Ice Cream over unicorn logo

Big Gay Ice Cream is facing a big lawsuit.

New York artist Sam Simon is suing the hot confection company for allegedly stealing a unicorn mural he created for its East Village shop in 2011.

“They hired him to just paint the mural as a decoration piece in their store, and then [they] turned it into their logo without his authority. The unicorn is now everywhere,” Simon’s lawyer, Abraham Hamra, told Page Six.

The Gap and Crown Publishing Group are also named in the suit for collaborations with Big Gay Ice Cream that included the logo. Simon is seeking “no less than $500,000, but the true value will be determined at trial,” Hamra said.
