The sound issues she experienced during her Grammys performance totally weren’t her fault, but Adele still feels terrible about the whole thing. The Hello singer stopped by the The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she and Ellen got down to the very important business of pranking Jamba Juice employees. They also had a chat of a bit more serious nature, addressing Adele’s mishap at the Grammys.
Adele looked and sounded stunning during her Grammys performance of All I Ask, but some viewers complained of sound issues. She addressed the problems on Twitter, explaining that a microphone had fallen onto the piano strings.
During her interview with Ellen, Adele opened up a bit more about the experience. She said that she knew what the problem was as soon as the music began, but froze onstage and couldn’t correct it.
“I was embarrassed,” she said. “I woke up the next morning to people in England being like, ‘We still love you, don’t worry.’ And I was like, ‘I didn’t ask you if you still loved me, but thanks!’”
The 25 singer laughed off the whole thing, but admitted that she had been a bit emotional about it.
“I cried pretty much all day yesterday,” she said. “But in fairness, I would have cried if it had gone really well as well.”
She chatted more with Ellen about her stage fright, and what it’s like to perform under so much pressure.
Oh, and she performed All I Ask again. This time completely flawlessly, natch.
With no tonal issues whatsoever. Watch the performance below.
