He may have portrayed the character of a superhero in many Marvel films. And yet, Marvel star Anthony Mackie feels somewhat insecure in the city of Birmingham.
Anthony Mackie regularly confronts bad men on the big screen and yet he is not quite comfortable while riding through Birmingham in Alabama in real life. Mackie has been a part of MCU’s Avengers and Captain America films.
Recently, this Marvel actor declared that Birmingham was ‘bananas.’ According to a report published by AL.com, it seems that this silver screen superhero feels unsafe when he is traveling in Birmingham.
Mackie has portrayed the character of The Falcon/Sam Wilson and said so in one of his recent interviews given to Ain’t It Cool News. And the actor does not miss a single opportunity to praise his forthcoming flick “Captain America; Civil War.”

The correspondent of the magazine also asked him about Falcon, his on-screen character. He said that it was sort of bizarre that when he was asked to do “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” he was sent only a couple of scenes. However, it later turned out that those two scenes lasted for more than 2 hours.
But it seems that the actor never got to go through the entire script. It was much later that he realized that he was playing the part of an Avenger and that made him too excited.
When Mackie was asked how his experience while working with the team was, he said it was pretty cool as there was a democratic setup and everyone was entitled to make their own decisions. Till date, the actor feels that the film was the result of a great team effort. According to Quint, Anthony Mackie is one of the finest actors in Hollywood with enormous charm.
During the course of the interview, the conversation drifted toward Birmingham and what the residents of the city would find amusing was the actor nurtures a great fear toward the city. When Quint asked him about his experience in the city, the actor said that driving through the city was real ‘bananas’ and drives him crazy.
