One Direction singer Harry Styles along with British actors Jack Lowden and Aneurin Barnard are set to star in Christopher Nolan’s World War II action-drama “Dunkirk”, joining the just cast Fionn Whitehead in the lead role.
The project, which will serve as the feature film debut of Styles, centers on Operation Dynamo and the British military evacuation of the French city of Dunkirk in 1940.
They all join Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh in the film which will be shot on a combination of Imax 65mm and 65mm large format film in many of the locations where the true-life events actually took place.
Lowden is reportedly up for the second co-leading role in the film. Barnard and Styles will take smaller but still significant roles. Nolan and Emma Thomas will produce and filming begins shortly ahead of a July 21st 2017 release.
