On May 27th, Gold Panda returns with Good Luck and Do Your Best, his first album in about three years. Due out through City Slang, it serves as his third full-length following his well-received Half of Where You Live. That’s the artwork above.
The 11-track effort was recorded in the producer’s home in Chelmsford, UK. A press release notes it was influenced by two trips to Japan, where he’d traveled with photographer Laura Lewis in hopes of making a “sight and sound documentary.”
The title itself comes from a cab driver who Gold Panda encountered while on his trip: “…As we got out, the Japanese taxi driver’s parting words to us as we left, were ‘good luck and do your best.’”
As a preview, the English producer has unveiled the skittering lead single “Time Eater”. Check it out below via its accompanying visual, which features footage filmed in cities like New York, Berlin, and Hong Kong.
