Dalton Rapattoni makes a theatrical impression with ‘Eleanor Rigby’ performance on ‘Idol’

Thursday (March 10) night found the Top 6 continuing for the show’s final title and when Dalton Rapattoni took the stage, no one knew what to expect.

Taking a cue from La’Porsha Renae, Rapattoni tackled a classic Beatles track but brought a unique theatrical spin to his performance of “Eleanor Rigby.”

Exploring the song’s darker undertones, Rapattoni brings a raw energy to the stage with the number. Adding an edge not commonly heard with the track, Dalton ended the performance big, which pleased Jennifer Lopez.

Keith Urban added to that response by comparing the hopeful to a waffle iron as he made quite an impression. Every judge agreed that the Beatles song was the perfect choice for Rapattoni, who made it into the Top 4. Will the edgy performance be enough to see him through to the finale? Possibly, that guyliner does him well.
