‘Bourne 5’ Update, Spoilers: Will Answer Major Questions About Jason Bourne’s Whereabouts?

The first official trailer for “Bourne 5”, recently titled as “Jason Bourne”, was unveiled at the famed Super Bowl earlier this month. The 30-second clip begins with Bourne (Matt Damon) in a raw boxing match, carrying on reintroducing fans to the man of the series. The CIA team head, Robert Dewey (Tommy Lee Jones), is seen shocked by his return in the teaser. He asks, “Why would he come back now?”

Why Bring Back Jason Bourne: Although, there is no official plot description for “Bourne 5,” it is confirmed that the movie is based on a script by Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon. Damon teased that Jason Bourne will be dealing with serious issues, forcing him to be back in thick of action.

After much deliberation, Damon coughed up some teasers, revealing to , “Jason Bourne has his memory back, but that does not mean that he knows everything. It has been 12 years since Jason Bourne was on the grid.” Damon revealed that “Bourne 5” will be revealing dreading questions of Bourne’s past and whereabouts.

Why Jason Bourne Came Back: The “Bourne 5” movie’s plot will then turn to his current and future plans. He further added that the movie mines the “post-Snowden” political landscape.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Damon said the character of Bourne is still in a very dark and tortured place, living with the same unresolved issues. He will embark into the journey of finding Julia Stiles’ character. Damon further revealed that this movie is the completion of the journey that started in the “Bourne Identity.” He stated that it feels like “Bourne 5” is the conclusion of Bourne’s identity journey.

“Bourne 5” Cast: Damon will obviously reprise his unforgettable role of Jason Bourne, which he exited after 2007’s “The Bourne Ultimatum”. The filming of the thrilling series has begun. The casting team has reportedly lined up an insanely talented supporting cast. Julia Stiles will be back to reprise her role as Nicky Parsons. The cast also includes Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, Ato Essandoh, and Vincent Cassel. Cassel will reportedly be playing the movie’s central antagonist.

Greengrass, who directed “Bourne Supremacy” and “Bourne Ultimatum,” will again be donning the hat of director. “Jason Bourne”, popularly called as “Bourne 5,” is expected to heat up the summer on July 29, 2016.
