Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is now just a couple of weeks away, and excitement regarding the blockbuster is currently at a fever pitch.
Despite rumors and speculation regarding Warner Bros.’ alleged nervousness ahead of Batman V Superman’s release, its still been predicted that Zack Snyder’s follow-up to Man Of Steel will ultimately gross around $140 million when it is finally released at the end of March.
According to Variety, tracking figures have predicted that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will open to a tally of at least $120 million on March 25. However, because the superhero hybrid is opening on Easter weekend, this could see audiences flock to the cinema, which is why the box office total could rise as high as $140 million.

Another reason why Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice could gross so much is its getting a huge release from Warner Bros. Not only is it hitting 4,000 domestic locations, it will also be screened in MIAX, 3D, 4DX, and Premium Large Format, too. Each of these tickets will come with their own additional costs too.
That’s just in the US too. Because Warner Bros. are planning a monumental simultaneous release for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice too. This will include the film being released across 30,000 screens in almost every single territory. This will see the blockbuster being released in the United Kingdom, Brazil, Japan, Russia, and China, which is now regarded as the second biggest movie market in the world.
The current prediction is that Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will gross around $200 million in overseas markets, which means that its likely to take in at least $300 worldwide in its opening weekend.
Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be hoping to usurp the $152.5 million opening of The Hunger Games back in 2012, which is currently the highest gross for a March release.
Obviously, Warner Bros. have a lot riding on Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’s release. Not only have they already spent around $200 million on its production, but the studio are also set to splash the same amount on its marketing too.
However, that’s not all, because Warner Bros. have high hopes that the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will mark the arrival of their DC cinematic universe. In fact, following the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Warner Bros. have already confirmed the production and release dates of 9 more movies from the DC universe.
Warner Bros. are also looking for a new money-spinning franchise to call their own too. The studio could previously rely on the Harry Potter and The Hobbit franchises to generate enormous sums of money for them, but since these series have come to an end the studio has yet to find properties to fill their shoes.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will quickly be followed by Suicide Squad in August, 2016, while Warner Bros. then plan on releasing two comic book movies a year as they looked to expand their DC universe.
The studio have also got Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, the Harry Potter spin-off that’s based on J.K. Rowling’s book of the same name, that’s due out in November. Led by two time Oscar nominee Eddie Redmayne, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is expected to blossom into its very own franchise too, with J.K. Rowling taking to Twitter last week to confirm that its the first in a trilogy.
