Mariah Carey's Ex Tommy Mottola SLAMS Her Recent Career Choices!

no title

Bad blood still lingers between these exes!

As we reported, Mariah Carey had a DISASTROUS performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve where her vocal track suddenly cut out, and she stopped trying to fake-sing.

While everyone from Sharon Osbourne to Jenny McCarthy have chimed in on the embarrassing debacle, a person from Mimi’s past is giving his (professional) two cents!

On Wednesday, the Vision singer’s ex husband and former mentor Tommy Mottola wrote a letter about Mariah’s recent troubles. Surprisingly, he gives Miz Carey some slack and believes the incident could’ve happened to anyone!

He wrote:

“What happened on NYE could’ve happened to anyone! Yes, her technical people should’ve helped pay more attention to all of it so that there was no chance of that happening.”

However, he totally SLAMS her reality TV show Mariah’s World and her current management for allowing her to sign on!

“My only advice is that she should hire more seasoned and respected professionals to surround her and help her with her career! I would never have encouraged her or guided her to do something like a reality television show!!!!! I don’t get it!!… That does absolutely nothing for her integrity, her credibility, or her massive talent!! She should take a step back, think carefully and figure out what to do next.”

Almost immediately, the musician’s current manager Stella Bulochnikov clapped back by saying:

“Really? Tommy is a relic. Did he give you that statement from a rotary phone?”

There is a chance, however, that Mariah IS taking Mottola’s advice seriously. As we reported, she cut ties with longtime creative director, Anthony Burrell, after the NYE performance.

Either way, we just hope Mariah’s career survives this fiasco!
